Dr. Wayne Thomas is a management consultant, author,
and speaker.
As CEO of Thomas & Company, Inc. a management consultancy, he helps
clients achieve their personal and professional objectives. He is an expert in the telecommunications industry
with keen experience in direct sales management, distribution channels, and sales agency programs.
He uses the principles of structural dynamics to help his clients see
reality, set their goals and make decisions based on truly relevant elements. His
strategic planning technique is a blend of the most effective tools with an inherent
efficiency. His capacity to lend his experience to problem solving while seeing
issues uniquely, is a special gift.
Prior to founding the firm in 1994, Wayne received
high sales and marketing
recognition at IBM, AT&T and as chief marketing officer at two telecommunications
firms he grew into national distribution companies.
He is Editor of the MMTA Channel
Intelligence Report, a member of the TIA Enterprise Board of Governors, and
Chairman of the Network Services Distribution Division.
He is the author of the Sales Agency Handbook, published
by NORTEL in 1996. Wayne has spoken nationally on marketing, sales and strategy topics at
industry forums for IBM, Nortel, and the Telecommunications Industry
Association. He chaired the TIA & EIAs Alternate Distribution Panels at SUPERCOMM from
1997-2000.
Wayne is a member
of the World Future Society, the MIT Forum and TIA.
Earning his Doctor of Business Administration (D.B.A.)
degree in 1999, Wayne has also completed the Columbia Graduate School of Business Executive
Program and the Kellogg Graduate School programs in Sales Management. Most recently,
he completed the Columbia Executive program in Marketing. He holds an MBA and has studied at Oxford
University, England, completed information technology training at the Cambridge Learning
Center at MIT, the AT&T Executive Development Program, and the IBM sales training and
marketing curriculum, and has a Certificate in Data Communications from
Northeastern University.
He earned IBMs highest sales award, the
Golden Circle,
and qualified for six consecutive 100% Clubs. While at AT&T, he was named
American Marketing Association Marketer of the Year and to
the President's Club by building a top
performing sales organization with over $100 million in sales. In 1993 he was Vice
President of Sales and Marketing for the Boston Chamber of Commerce Small Business
of the Year with nearly 300 sales personnel in his organization. He is profiled in
Whos Who in the Media and Communications.
He has served as Executive Councilor to the
Governor of Massachusetts, the states 3rd ranking constitutional office.
He was also
Jaycee State Speaking Champion.
His outside interests include hiking, golf, and enjoying family life
with his wife and two young daughters Emily and Kathryn.
